MISSION STATEMENT

Because Kabaroan is a martial art and brutal as a fighting system, OUR CULTURAL OBJECTIVE IS TO HUMANIZE THE ART, TO CIVILIZE THE ARTIST, AND TO REFINE THE SYSTEM.

We hope that all practitioners, both students and teachers, would learn from the start to practice the art with maximum safety; that whatever motivated them to study Kabaroan (and other martial arts for that matter), they would align themselves with those who have committed to study, practice, and teach it for peaceful intentions and for the good of humanity, so that our world might become a better and safer place in which to live

WHAT IS KABAROAN ESKRIMA?

Kabaroan is the Filipino martial art and system of Fencing and Self-Defense. Specifically, it is the traditional way of fighting with hand-weapons or hand-arms (ARMAS DE MANO) such as bolos, swords called kampilans (cutlasses), spears, iron-wood sticks, and fire-hardened staves as opposed to fighting with hand-guns or firearms (ARMAS DE FUEGO) such as pistols, rifles, and revolvers.

Kabaroan is taught publicly and privately as a Martial Art course for physical fitness and self-defense. The training course shows the art hidden and preserved in folk dances, its basic principles, history and philosophy, and its exercises and disciplines for fitness, health, and fun.

WHY SHOULD I TRAIN IN KABAROAN?

Kabaroan Eskrima offers physical, mental and inner discipline benefits. For the youth, it offers very rewarding exercises that help develop mental alertness and physical agility. It provides wholesome sports competition and very safe combative art. For women, children, and senior citizens, Arnis offers non-strenuous, non-rigorous, and moderate exercises for physical fitness, muscle toning, self-discipline, self-confidence, and figure control. Kali also offers basic, easy, practical, and effective defense techniques for self, family, and neighbor-hood.
